How It Works
Step 1: Acquire & Convert
We source small, roadworthy vans and convert them into safe living spaces. Each van is fitted with insulation, a fold-out bed, storage, smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, and fire safety equipment. The aim is to create a compact but dignified home.
Step 2: Make It Legal
Before a van is handed over, we take care of all the essentials:
- Tax and MOT – every van is fully legal and road safe.
- Insurance – vehicles are insured for peace of mind.
- Safety Checks – regular checks ensure everything remains in working order.
Step 3: Placement & Support
With the help of landowners and councils, vans are parked in secure, monitored locations. Alongside housing, we provide links to local support services, including health care, employment advice, and longer-term housing pathways.
Step 4: Pathway to Stability
🚦While the vans are not primarily meant as permanent housing, we understand that some people experiencing homelessness find it difficult to feel comfortable in traditional flats or houses. For those individuals, the option to gift and keep the van is available. In addition, we will provide funding support towards obtaining a driving license. This not only empowers independence, but also opens up opportunities such as courier work, offering an added layer of security and stability.
From van purchase to permanent housing, every step is designed to restore dignity and hope.
